Karyos was the eldest and most powerful of the god's servants, but he grew tired of serving. He wanted to be the god. So he planned the betrayal, recruiting the others with promises of power. When they struck, Karyos led the charge and drove his staff into the god's heart. The god's death scream killed him instantly, but in that moment between death and oblivion, Karyos seized the divine essence of eternal winter and resurrection. He came back wrong: neither alive nor dead, existing in the frozen space between. Now he can bring others back from death, but like him, they return as something else: cold, eternal, and bound to his will forever. The Frostborn Legion are his gift and his curse: an army that can never truly die, led by a king who can never truly live.
